At WigWam Restoration, we don’t just fix buildings; we restore healthy living environments. Every technician is trained to treat your property with the clinical care it deserves.
WigWam Restoration & Environmental is an Indigenous-owned service company providing professional restoration, environmental, and facility support services to communities, institutions, and organizations across Ontario.
Built on a foundation of professionalism, technical expertise, and community responsibility, WigWam Restoration & Environmental works to protect the safety, health, and integrity of residential, commercial, and institutional environments.
Our company was established to deliver reliable services while strengthening Indigenous participation within the environmental and restoration sectors. We take pride in combining modern technical practices with a culturally grounded approach that respects communities and the environments in which we work.
WigWam Restoration & Environmental is led by President Ms. Barbara Southwind and Director Mr. Gasimov, whose combined experience in community service, environmental operations, institutional services, insurance-related work, and regulated industries provides the leadership foundation for the organization.
President
Ms. Barbara Southwind is an Indigenous leader dedicated to improving community wellbeing and strengthening services available to First Nations and Northern communities.
Her professional experience includes work within government and justice-related environments, including service connected to the Department of Justice and programs administered under the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017. Through these roles, she worked directly with families facing crisis situations and collaborated with housing authorities, community agencies, and multidisciplinary service providers supporting children and individuals with complex needs.
Through years of service and community engagement, Ms. Southwind has developed a strong understanding of the structural, housing, health, and environmental challenges affecting Indigenous communities, particularly in remote regions where access to timely services can be limited.
Her leadership is guided by respect, cultural responsibility, accountability, and community stewardship. These values shape the governance principles and service philosophy of Wigwam Restoration & Environmental.
Director
Mr. Gasimov brings extensive professional experience in the restoration, environmental, healthcare, and insurance sectors, with a strong background in operational service delivery, technical assessments, and client support.
His experience includes work in the insurance industry, including loss assessments, estimating, claims environments, and restoration-oriented project coordination. Through this background, he has developed a practical understanding of property damage evaluation, documentation standards, scope development, and the importance of timely, professional service in loss situations.
Mr. Gasimov also has experience in indoor air assessments and environmental evaluations, supporting projects that require careful observation, reporting, and professional judgment. His work in these environments has contributed to a strong understanding of building conditions, occupant concerns, and service expectations in both residential and institutional settings.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Gasimov owned and operated medical clinics in Ontario, which provided him with direct experience in regulated healthcare environments where sanitation, risk awareness, operational discipline, and high service standards are critical.
In addition, Mr. Gasimov holds several industry certifications, including being IICRC-certified, reflecting his commitment to industry standards, continuing education, and professional excellence. His certification-based background supports Wigwam Restoration & Environmental’s focus on technical credibility, responsible service delivery, and compliance-minded operations.
His broad industry knowledge strengthens the company’s ability to serve clients with professionalism, accuracy, and a strong awareness of operational and regulatory expectations.
Wigwam Restoration & Environmental was built through the collaboration of experienced professionals with backgrounds in restoration services, environmental operations, insurance-related environments, estimating, and facility service sectors.
